Many of the items on this site come from independent designers or small businesses who care about the quality and details. I am so lucky to be working with such brilliant and interesting people and thought you might like to know a little about them.
Nonesuchthings is somewhere between a blog and a shop, a place I can put a few lovely things (usually limited quantities, often commissions) made by some really fabulous people. Launched in September 2009 by Amanda Cox, Nonesuchthings is very much a labour love that's run from the kitchen table!
This is simply the most fantastic invention - just go to the site - www.masking-tape.jp and take a look at "mt Gallery" for inspiring ideas on how to use it. Since launching in 2008 this tape has just gone completely crazy in Japan.
A great Scot, based in Dulwich, who makes what she calls “shiny stolen booty trinkets saved from dark fates in forgotten homes”! She also makes gorgeous bags and won an award for them recently. www.louisebuchan.com
I always get a thrill of finding interesting and well-made lovely things to give to loved ones and really enjoy working with the people behind the products who really care about quality and detail. I live in North London with my kids and husband.
I am totally in love with these candles – they have been created by this incredibly interesting American chap - Douglas Little - who is a huge collector of rare botanica and other curiosities. Every item produced by this company is exquisite and is intended to unfold like a love letter – from opening the French satin ribbon and the Burmese silk box to lighting the high-grade wax and enjoying the handmade fragrance. A gift set and 10oz candle are coming soon ... www.dlcompany.com

I love this range but particularly love the corsage and necklace kits from this company. Beautifully styled and easy to put together. The materials are also recycled, renewable, fairly traded and locally supplied. Look out for necklaces coming soon! www.sparrowkids.co.uk
This Hamburg-based fashion accessory company makes the most beautiful wristlets, necklaces, hats and other gorgeous things. www.thegirlandthegorilla.de
